The Epic Swim is a recreational open water swimming event which is held each year on the idyllic setting of Lake Taupo, and is staged in conjunction with the New Zealand Open Water Championships. There are races for all ages and ability levels. From 100m and 500m for children, 1km and 2.5km races for intermediate swimmers, to the 5km and 10km races for the more advanced.
For those who are up for more of a challenge, the Epic Epic race will test your mental and physical abilities. The Epic Epic is a 17km race combining the 5k, 2.5km, and 10km Epic races across two days. . The 2020 Epic Swim will see the return of the 4 x 1km team relay. Get four of your mates together to finish off a great weekend competing for the Epic Team Relay title. Male, Female and Mixed team options in either the U16 or Open categories. The 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km and 10km NZ Open Water Championships are also held over the weekend.
